NEEDS OF NON-MILITARY DEFENCE RESOURCES IN SCOPE OF EDUCATION– DILEMMAS OF XXI CENTURY

Summary/Abstract: Every country must develop individual capacity to resist crisis or armed attack. In XXI century near 70 years after initialed the North Atlantic Treaty, threats and challenges call European countries in raise awareness to training and educating further non-military defence resources. The process cannot be done by military education institutions or for military personnel only. Educational efforts must start in high schools and continuing through public administration up to the highest authorities responsible for national defence. Dependence of the state defence preparations and collective defence to education for security is presented by Polish experience in specific geopolitical situation XXI century. Regional situation of eastern border countries of EU and NATO is diametrically different than at the end of XX century, therefore, every country must redefine education of societies for non-military preparation.
