Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with identification and interpretation of the oblivion of the sculptures in Pioneer City in Belgrade. The core of this paper are the relations between the sculptures and the main function of Pioneer City as utopian place for children. The sculptural expression and its meaning is in correlation with Yugoslav ideology reflected in the cult of Josip Broz Tito’s personality, which is crucial for understanding the process of becoming the(Tito’s) pioneer. The role sculptures had in shaping children’s personalities and fulfilling the state space of utopia is important part of this paper. They are marked today as dissonant fragments of phenomenon usually signified as stigmatisation of Yugoslav heritage. From the memory theory aspect, thinking about their role today, about the testimony they bear within,we can realize the hidden potential that can be used for developing critical thinking about our past. By doing so we will be able to influence our future, therefore the future of the sculptures and Pioneer City as well.
