Summary/Abstract: There is a special vocabulary to define the wine and a certain terminology to describe it. This paper presents how the Sommeliers and the Masters of Wine use language to communicate about wine and how effective that communication is. Particular attention is given to the complexity of the relationship between this drink and words. In order to understand the language of wine and the communicative code of those who use it, we analyzed tasting notes of three Italian wines: Barolo, Brunello, Amarone.
