RESTORATION AND CONSERVATION OF A PROVISION ASSIGNMENT FROM BOIAN CULTURE

Summary/Abstract: This supply vessel belongs to the Boian culture and was discovered in a fragmentary state following excavations carried out in Râmnicu Sărat, in 1968.Immediately after the discovery, the vessel underwent a restoration attempt, unfinished at the time, leading recently to a new restoration process which was completed by following the rules and principles of conservation and restoration of the archaeological ceramic material.I believe that the proposed restoration, completed with the renewal of the decoration and color of the vessel, highlights the beauty of the Boian type ceramics. The newly restored piece finds its place of honor in the Archaeological exhibition of the Buzău County Museum.
