Some informations about a metallurgical production in the Geangoeşti tell settlement

Summary/Abstract: The authors present some copper objects from the collection of the Complexul Naţional Muzeal ‘Curtea Domnească’ Târgovişte, originally discovered during the old excavations at the Geangoeşti and Corbii Mari (Dâmboviţa County) tell-sites. Typologically the objects can be categorized as tools (axes, chisels, awls, hooks) and jewellery (bracelets, pins, beads). Some of them are notably different from the typological form previously known in the Gumelniţa culture area. Three nozzles, objects linked to smelting activities, came from the Geangoeşti tell-site. Using this evidence we can suggest the possibility of small-scale, local copper production.
