CASE LAW OF THE HIGH COURT OF CASSATION AND JUSTICE

Summary/Abstract: As regards the activity of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (Panel of the recourse in the interest of the law), in October 2018, two decisions were published in the Official Journal of Romania regarding the provisions of the NCCP and of Law no. 304/2004 on judicial organization, and also in relation to the Code of criminal procedure, Law no. 254/2013 on execution of punishments and measures ordered by the court during the trial, GD no. 157/2016 for approval of the Regulation of enforcement of Law no. 254/2013 on execution of punishments and measures ordered by the court during the trial. Also in October 2018, as regards the activity of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (Panel of clarification of certain issues of law), several decisions were published in the Official Journal regarding art. 3^1 para. (1^3) of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 57/2015 on the salary of the staff paid from public funds in the year 2016, the extension of certain deadlines, as well as certain tax and budgetary measures, but also in relation to art. 2 letter b) and art. 16 para. (1) of Law no. 194/2011 on combating operations with products likely to have psychoactive effects.
