The literary identity of Old Albanian Literature

Summary/Abstract: Old Albanian Literature marks a discursive praxis with typical multicultural indicators. Its multicultural semiosphere offers the opportunity for an integral analysis as a sine qua non to the analysis of its literary identity, since the textuality of this corpus is modelled on the interrelation with typical cultural systems. Such interrelation, in this case, presupposes functions and relations dependent on basic/supplementary priorities of pertinent cultural systems, thus the literary praxis and its catergorial identity takes on a heterogeneous character, consequently conceiving characterstics that vary from the quadratic presence of immanent literary categories to a formal/elementary presence. Hence, the purpose of this article is the examination of modalities and characterizations of literary identity. The significance of the holistic approach presents itself as 1) a methodological demand for the theoretical resolve of the literary identity of old Albanian literature, and 2) a natural demand for the synopsis of previous educational experiences and their reconfiguration.
