Theology and its assignments in the light of teaching of Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith

Summary/Abstract: The article reflects on the theology and its assignments from the point of view of its own scientific method. The coherent method of the theological speculation cannot be totally indifferent to the essential bond between theology and deposit of the faith. To this respect, the indications offered by the teaching of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith in the post-conciliar time are analyzed, reflecting on the doctrinal competence field, where the Dicastery advances with a new intensity the doctrinal orientations for the correct theological method.
