Sustainable development of Romanian rural space and the demands of the future

Summary/Abstract: In the paper there were followed three essential aspects: the contents and factors of the sustainable development contemporary process, the present situation of the Romanian rural environment and the sustainable development of the Romanian rural space, in condition of the European Union economy integration. There were brought arguments regarding the necessity to accelerate the development rural regions process from Romania, in order to become more consistent with the rural regions of the advanced western countries. Also, there were assessed the strategic objectives and tasks of the National Plan for Rural Development.
