Summary/Abstract: Paul the Apostle, in his first letter to Corinthians said: “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive” (1 Cor 15:22, New American Standard Bible). This theological sermon – regarding original sin and the salvation of mankind – lies on the metaphysical thesis of unity of the whole human race. Thomas Aquinas noticed that: “Humankind, acquiring it’s true nature from the first genitor, ought to be seen as a community or, should I say: as one flesh of one man” (commentary on De malo IV, 1, co.). Here, one of the Christian anthropology thesis is emphasized. The mankind, sympathizing with the first genitor (Adam) is therefore also in solidarity with the Christ (through his Incarnation). Proposed text deals with these issues from the Aquinas’ point of view, especially in the context of the today’s theological syntheses anchored in the thomistic mindset. In the first instance, the Biblical context of solidarity doctrine are given. Then, the theological consequences of such are expressed, particularly regarding to ancestral sin, and the sermon of mankind salvation in Christ.
