Summary/Abstract: Literature has a strong relationship with a collective memory. From the very beginning, she has created a strong connection with the hidden relicts (A. M. Thiesse). So far, those relicts have played an important role on the function of literature. Modern theories on nations and nationalism, beginning from ethno-symbolists, underline this strong connection between them. In our lecture, we analyse the relationship of the literature with a so called (national)distinctive symbolic repertoire (A.D. Smith) and with the feelings which derive from collective identity (zusammengehörigkeitsgefühl, Weber). The sensitivity derived from these symbolic signs, like language, literature, ethnic tradition and ethnic territory has been seen as an evitable repertoire which can stimulate literary writing. We analyse the role of this repertoire and of the collective identity in letters, as we do with the impact of literature in evaluating the sensitivity on collective identity. For this purpose, we do analyse the role of (ethno) myths, national memories and collective identity in Albanian languageand literature.
