Summary/Abstract: Fr Konstanty Michalski is considered one of the greatest creators of contemporary Catholic culture in Poland. The issue of philosophy of history undertaken by Michalski is captured in connection with philosophical anthropology and metaphysical understanding of reality. Among the many conceptions of the philosophy of history, the recognition of this problem based on philosophical anthropology deserves special attention. History then explains itself with the help of the laws of human action, and the human nature metaphysically appears as a set of relations that bind man to the supernatural source of the historical process. Understanding the philosophy of history as a metaphysical discipline in connection with the philosophical concept of man carries the task of discovering the causes of the development of historical reality. A man bound by social relations becomes, along with his natural conditions and openness to supernatural activity, the subject and creator of human history. Man can be treated not only instrumentally, but as one of the causes of history, and thus as their creator. In this regard, Michalski will clearly draw attention to the question of how far the sources of history lie in the material sphere of a human being and how much they are in his spirit.
