Work and its importance for people with disabilities. Legal and social dimension of professional functioning of people with disabilities

Summary/Abstract: The opportunity of work is of particular value for people with disabilities. The article briefly reviews definitions of work, its value for people, and people with disabilities, in particularly, as it fosters the social and vocational rehabilitation. We aim at the meaning of work for people with disabilities, which is strictly connected with the issue of social arrangements, including the legal and organizational ones. Limited employment opportunities require special work conditions, which would encourage entrepreneurs, on the open and protected labor market, to employ people with disabilities, on the one hand, and those people to make an effort of becoming employees, on the other.
