Summary/Abstract: The concept of political entrepreneurship is polysemic and is used indifferent senses. Admittedly, it is at the crossroads of economics and political science. Thisarticle aims to elucidate the scope of the entrepreneurial action of mayor-entrepreneur. Infact, we refer to the framework of convention theory. We will particularly refer to Boltanskiand Thevenot's model of "economies of greatness" (1991) and Gomez's research (1996) topropose an original typology of mayor-entrepreneurs. We conclude that politicalentrepreneurship is a particular form of entrepreneurship according to which the politicalentrepreneur is a politician (Homo Politicus), an economist (homo oeconomicus) and also apublic manager (homo publicus). The theoretical framework of economy of conventionsreveals twelve possible entrepreneurial behaviors of mayor-entrepreneur.
