Summary/Abstract: The present article tries to clarify the origin of Aaron the Tyrant – a Moldavian one, in any case a non-Jewish one and, also, to come to an agreement, as far as possible, with regards to the only (two) pieces of information concerning the youth of this prince: the list of Alexandru Lăpușneanu's loyal boyards in the oath of Bakuta (1552), respectively the episode of Agapia Veche told by Ion Neculce, when Aaron got into a conflict with his uncle, prelate Nicanor. It is a factual agreement but especially a chronological one. It was also demonstrated the confused, contradictory character of the information regarding the beginnings of his reign.
