Toward a Reflexive Internationalization

Summary/Abstract: What first came to my mind following the reading of Valerio Baćak’s recent Forum contribution (Baćak, 2011) was the well known sceptical argument put forth by the Sophist Gorgias. Sketchily retold for illustrative purposes, this argument suggests that even if we were able to understand something and to communicate it to others, they would not understand what we were saying. After having re-read Baćak’s contribution, I am almost convinced that what I am writing now will again be misconstrued or rejected as impertinent by my interlocutor. To be sure, the reverse is true as well: my interlocutor could say the same about my perception of his arguments.
