Summary/Abstract: The book Local Democracy in European Countries, edited by Isolde Bokszczanin and Andżelika Mirska, contains a collection of texts on selected aspects of the functioning of thirteen national systems of local democracies. We find here texts about Poland (two), about our neighbors (Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia), Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Sweden), countries of Southern Europe (Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland), as well as about systems in Germany, Austria, France, Ireland and Great Britain.
