THE RINGLEADER KONESKI

Summary/Abstract: As it is generally known that Teshkoto is exclusively a male dance and that it cannot be performed by everyone--in fact, it has been performed only by talented members of the community (artistic troop)--Blazhe Koneski felt that he is the determined and talented one to play the ringleader’s role in the contemporary Macedonian literature and culture. Taking into consideration the fact that this dance is very slow and reservedly dignified, it perfectly suits the poet’s sensibility inside Koneski himself. The harmony between the emotional tension and the body movements while it is danced is similar to a dialogue with his famous syntagma “plane and strict poem”.
