The Authority in Correctional Education in the Option of Students of Rehabilitation

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with issues of the authority in correctional education. Research was carried out using a diagnostic survey technique, with the help of a questionnaire, among 114 students of rehabilitation. The authority is a specific foundation of co-operation with the pupils. Such personality traits as justice, kindness, understanding, patience, self-control, confidence, helping pupils and supporting them, appreciation, encouraging science and activity, rewarding – are all conducive to building the teacher's authority. The teacher should also be a joyful, open-minded and empathic person. These features will allow the teacher to interact with the child. In order to maintain their authority over a longer period, the educator must be aware of the fact that their attitude towards pupils should change according to the pupils' development and progress in the process of rehabilitation.
