Summary/Abstract: The Codification of Justinian was the main source of law for 1000 years across Europe, while on the other hand the Code of Lekë Dukagjini (Albanian: Kanuni i Lekë Dukagjinit) marked the spiritual and identity map of Albani-ans to a great extent. The Codification of Justinian did not leave a domain of social life that was not covered by law. The adoption of that law had a wide reflection across the Empire, such as reorganization of the empire, temple construc-tions, fortifications, inventions, new invasions, city construction, roads, etc. In a word, Justinian’s Corpus made the citizens homogenize and carry out their civic duties as well as the biggest reform ever known during the late Antiquity and early medieval times. The Codification of Justinian is known for the date and year of compilation and proclamation, but this is not the case with the Code of Lekë Dukagjini, because this canon has no date of compilation or proclamation, but one thing is certain – that kind of canon had been constituted at least 1000 years ago among the Arbore people. The Codification of Justinian is solemn by its roots, while the Code of Lekë Dukagjini is sacral.
