Summary/Abstract: In Romania a representative sample of adult population was interviewed using a standard gem questionnaire. After emphasizing the special situation of Romanian entrepreneurship in international context we aimed to determine its main factors, using socio-demographic and perceptual variables. The findings of this paper can be a starting point in understanding entrepreneurship of ex-socialist countries.
