Summary/Abstract: Without pretending to bring final conclusions, the present article tries to identify the main talking points of the Romanian modern politics and the research in the field of Church-state relations. A noteworthy approach is taken with the analysis of the incitements and threats against the religious dialogue after the Council Vatican I. In this perspective, the article analyzes the transformations of the European spiritual environment through a parallel between the religious practices in Eastern and Western Europe. A special place is devoted to the analysis of the efficiency of the current institutional system of dialogue. Moreover, the principles of this “New Christian Dialogue” are rigorously highlighted.
