Summary/Abstract: The difficult time that the entire Europe was going through in the spring of 1939, situation that predicted the beginning of a new world war, determined King Carol II to take the necessary steps for the election of a new parliament. To secure election victory the sovereign asked the government to issue a new electoral law and, for the same reason, the elections were held under strict surveillance. Although the only ones aloud to run for parliament were members of the F.R.N., the election of the new Parliament of the National Renaissance Front was seen by the King Carol II as a big success for the royal party.
