Summary/Abstract: Human society has undergone during its various stages of development history, political, social and religious, knowing many forms and types of equilibrium freedom-social constraint. We can’t say about any of these steps that has been more successful than other, more efficient, we can only find that each historical and social stage has chose his freedomconstraint type of report, specific to the social issues and the level of cultural development. A brief passage through human and civilization history, civilization reveals that the Greek thinkers, Middle Ages theologians, and Enlightenments, or the liberals, socialists or conservatives have offered different and multiple interpretations of the notion of freedom and hence the forms of social coercion.
