Summary/Abstract: The mechanism of adapting the Romanian judicial system to the requirements of modern society has, among its components, the implementation of a new Civil Code, in order to provide answers to each citizen’s everyday problems. One of the most common issues found in Romanian judicial practice is represented by property litigation, with all its derivatives. In what follows, we will see one of the original methods of acquiring ownership of movable property, the occupation, in the contemporary regulation of the Romanian New Civil Code.
