„Junii Sibiului” 70

Summary/Abstract: Romania's oldest folk dance ensemble, "Junii Sibiului", which could translate to "The Sprouts of Sibiu", turned 70 years in 2014. The "Junii Sibiului" ensemble came into being in 1944, at the initiative of master choreographer Ioan Macrea. In 70 years of existence, the "Cindrelul — Junii Sibiului" ensemble performed in more than 40,000 shows and completed over 600 tours in Romania, the entire Europe, North America, Asia and Africa. Over 3,600 dancers hit the boards of the stage as members of the ensemble in all these years.
