Summary/Abstract: The Gender refers to the concept of social inequality and demonstrates that unequal relations can obstruct the development of a country. Being aware of the importance and even the urgent need to integrate women into the process of management and preservation of water as a common good, in the words of Riccardo Petrella, policy makers included gender in integrated water management from 1992 to the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The states participating in the Summit agreed that: “Women are at the heart of the supply process; management and conservation of water”. In 1995, Morocco integrated IWRM into its Water Law 10-95 and undertook campaigns in urban space and landlocked areas to sensitize people to the gender specificities of water management. We will attempt in this paper to show by qualitative and quantitative results that the effective integration of women into IWRM effectively contributes to the sustainability of water in terms of quantity and quality.
