Summary/Abstract: Religions and beliefs have an important place on giving shape to people’s lifestyles in numerous fields. Although families have the major responsibility for teaching religions and beliefs, there is a positive opinion about schools’ taking part in it. In a complex heterogeneous society, it is considered very meaningful that individuals recognize their own religion and beliefs trying to understand others’. In this context, as a necessity of pluralistic religious education in today’s schools, the practice of teaching different aspects of a religion is increasing, the religions followed by the minority of the populaion as well. In Turkey, especially after the year 2000, a more pluralistic perspective has been given on teaching religions and itikadi, fıkhi and tasavvufi interpretations. The aim of this study is to identify high school students’ thoughts about the different Islamic interpretations and to contribute to the program development studies. In this frame, 956 students in ten different high schools selected from the districts of Sakarya province are conducted surveys and the results are evaluated.
