Summary/Abstract: The fictitious introduction to Collected works of Ijon Tichy tells the story of publishing adventures of The Star Diaries, in which, to the utmost surprise of many tichiologists, Astral Sternu Tarantoga plays not a very noble role. The story Ijon Tichy's right drawer lining demythologises the character of Tarantoga, who has been to date regarded as a dear friend of the great traveller, it uncovers his immoral actions and egotic tendencies. The question is whether it is for sure a just assessment, formulated by professor Allan Shapiro, associated with the mysterious Lunar Agency.
