Summary/Abstract: This paper proposes a short analysis, both of the revision project of The Romanian Constitution regarding the way the institution of the family is defined, and of the legal project regarding the civil partnership, which was developed as an answer to the problems rose by said revision. The purpose of this analysis is to evaluate the opportuneness of these projects in the social and economic context in contemporary Romania, focusing our attention on the reasoning behind them.
