Summary/Abstract: Carlos Fuentes is undoubtedly an essential figure in the panorama of contemporary Mexican literature, his narrative flows in two major streams: the fictionalization of realist-inspired history and fantastic literature. In this paper I intend to analyze his anthology of fantastic narrative published in 2007 under the title Cuentos sobrenaturales / Supernatural Stories, from the persistent reference to times, spaces and ancient objects, superimposed in layers, which are unearthed and reinterpreted throughout his work, a constant fascination in his creative process that I have called archaepoetics.
