Summary/Abstract: The article evokes the years the author spent in the city of Alba-Iulia, a time marked by the meet- ing with the army Bishop Partenie Ciopron and some refugee monks from Bessarabia. The Catholic cathedral of the city made a strong impression in the consciousness of local people too. Partenie Ciopron and Marton Aron (Catholic bishop of Alba-Iulia) are said to have consulted each other about what they could do to resist the constraints of the increasingly oppressive communist regime. The author also witnessed the event which took place on October 21, 1948, namely the return of the Greek Catholics to Orthodoxy and evoked it in the article.
