Uyghur cultural heritage in the clash with the People’s Republic of China.

Summary/Abstract: The main intention of this article is an attempt to answer the question of how the Sino-Uyghur relations affect the cultural heritage of Muslim Uyghurs? The author devoted special attention to the issue of Uyghur ethnic consciousness, which at some stage differentiated the Uyghurs from Chinese civilization. An important part of the work is also an analysis of the contemporary situation in Xinjiang and the problem of growing Uyghur radicalism. A summary of the considerations concerns the analysis of the mechanisms driving the conflict and possible solutions.
