Summary/Abstract: Pisa studies show that Belgium and Romania have poor performance in education at pre-university level.Through the study I investigated to what extent the socio-economic level of the family (given by the level of education and occupation of the parents as well as of the family income) is associated with the academic performance of the preadolescent pupils in Romania compared to Belgium.
