Summary/Abstract: Matur readers must read again and again, and revalue Nicolae Labis' poetry. Young readers have the chance to accurately intercept the most talented poet of the first half of the last century, on one condition: to be acquainted with the history of the troubled times the poet has lived in. Labis' poetry has got almost in its totality an occasional character and it is determinated by biographical circumstances, while the nature in his creation is an initiatical one, full of mysteries. The poet has a profound feeling of nature that for him it is a territory in which the death initiation at that time was synonymous with his abrupt, precocious and unwelcome maturation. Signs of his rebellion are everywhere in his work, and we must notice the poet's courage; but Labis seems to have been rather a disappointed and uncomfortable young man than an artist devoted to the communist regime.
