Summary/Abstract: Najbardziej zmysłowym sposobem percypowania rzeczywistości jest wzrok. Obraz, przedstawienia i widzenie to wszechobecne cechy procesu, dzięki któremu większość ludzi poznaje świat. W ostatnich kilku dekadach obserwujemy niespotykane nasycenie przedstawieniami wizualnymi. Implikacją takiego stanu jest ciągła interakcja ze światem głównie za pomocą obrazów. Wprowadzonemu w literaturę przedmiotu terminowi okulocentryzm przypisuje się konotacje znaczeniowe dla centralnej pozycji sfery wizualnej.The most sensory method of perceiving reality is vision. Image, depiction and sight are omnipresent characteristics of the process thanks to which most of the people see the world. In the last several decades we are observing an unparalleled saturation with visual depictions. An implication of such state is continuous interaction with the world mainly through images. Introduction of the subject in the literature, the term “ocularcentrism”, connotations of meaning are assigned to the central position of the visual sphere.
