Summary/Abstract: Family is the most important and primary social group in every child's life. It is closely connected with their functioning in a school environment. Currently it is possible to observe an increase in the number of children with a certificate confirming that they require special education. At the same time there is a tendency in the Polish education system to apply inclusive education, which brings a number of difficulties that contemporary schools have to struggle with. One of the problematic phenomena is the increasing frequency of difficult behaviour. It is displayed not only by pupils with developmental disorders, although in the population of people with dysfunctions it is up to three times more common. Undesirable behaviour, while impacting on a person's daily functioning, may also limit their ability to learn and have a considerable influence on the whole class. Inclusive education has therefore become a major challenge for the entire school community.
