Summary/Abstract: The following study focuses rumours spreading in a Hungarian micro-region, Jászság in the decade when the dictatorship of the proletariat was built up. It attempts to reveal both directions of rumours: the official that targeted people and the informal that served to interpret events like elections, centralization of the education, possible war scenarios and collectivization.
