Summary/Abstract: In this work I tried to bring information from different fields, namely theology, history and literature. In the Romanian old literature. the personality who built a perfect cultural pluralism in his work was Dimitrie Cantemir in writing Hieroglyphic History. In order to penetrate the gates of this influential 16th-17th century character, I chose to highlight two of the "animals" used in the above-mentioned work to illustrate the real characters existing at that time at the reign, namely the eagle and the lion. To accomplish this goal, I chose to structure this article in a totally new way, motivating my research methodology, objectives and directions at each stage. I considered that, through this structure, I managed to bring to the present the struggle for throne of the being parties in the Romanian Lands. Conclude the abstract by referring to the importance of this work in the development of Romanian literature, due to the fact that the Hieroglyphic History contains maxims, proverbs and verses, novelty for that period.
