Summary/Abstract: Since a direct relationship exists between shipbuilding and the corresponding terminology, a brief historical survey of shipbuilding in the world, Great Britain and Romania included, is essential at this stage. The present article aims to present the history of shipbuilding in order to understand the shipbuilding industry.
