Summary/Abstract: The early age of children with visual impairment is particularly important in terms of providing targeted services and support in early intervention not only for children but also for their deeper social environment. It is in this period, more than in any other developmental periods, that a significant role of the theory of imprinting can be observed. The presented research results reflect the importance of substitutability of services and early care and the parental views on the quality of these services. At the same time, early intervention services are emphasized as a significant determinant in overcoming difficult life situations which the family experiences after the birth of a visually impaired child.
