Summary/Abstract: Revitalization and its management in the urban space is a complex process which requires the identification of scale and scope of needs, efforts and resources, involving different partners and preparation of appropriate projects. Gdańsk isanold, historic city of distinctive identity in which certain boroughs still require revitalization actions. The research hypothesis of this paper is the assumption of a necessity of undertaking revitalizationinvestments in Gdańsk.These projects generate numerous benefits which are important for the city’s development. By thesame token, the aim of this paper is the analysis of directions of revitalization of the city of Gdańsk and the indication of benefits which effectively change both temporally and spatially the identity of this city.The study researchmethod is the case study analysisof revitalization projects and their multidimensionalretrospective evaluation from the perspective of the city’s development.
