THE MATERNAL PERSPECTIVE IN THE NOVEL „OCHII MAICII DOMNULUI”

Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to describe the main role which a mother has in her child's entire existence. By raising his son in an ultraprotective manner, Sabina becomes his only reason of being. Socially inappropriate, after the death of his mother, the young man fails to observe the purpose of existence and ends up in self-isolation, finding the necessary comfort in the icon of the Holy Virgin, the embodiment of the whole, the supreme native force, the only mobilizing vehicle.
