Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this research is to show that in his activity as translator, Ioan Radin Peianov succeeded to create cultural bridges between Romania and Serbia. The translations from Romanian and Serbian languages were an important chapter in his literary activity, but not only for his purpose as writer and translator, but as a reference point in an agitated social context. He approached in his translations different types of literary genres: poetry, novel, short stories, theatre, conversational guide and he wanted that Romanian and Serbian literary works to be known in both of the countries. His involvement in literary events that took place in Romania and Serbia too – Romanian and Serbian literature symposiums, poetry festivals and his work as librarian at the Public Library in Timisoara shows us that he was passionate by his work as translator for transmission of cultural and literary values.
