Summary/Abstract: The skill of the masons traced the road of our rich and specific traditional construction practices and is still a wit-ness of their undisputable prowess which had been remarkable in the 19-th century. Macedonian builders left their recognizable mark on the buildings of these regions, therefore they were widely respected and sought after. Most famous of them were the masons from the Mijacki region. Their buildings were predominantly located in rural areas, but none of them lacked townhouse attributes. These buildings satisfied even the most refined requests with their perfect function and aesthetics. Characteristic conditions related to site, climate, way of living specific to certain areas have lead to a formation of a building which is spacious enough, as well as able enough to easily facilitate family life. Depending on the basic people activities in various regions, several types of buildings are distinguished. To all types, two spaces around which the conception of the home was developed are essential, i.e. the oriel or loggia and the porch. However, it is difficult to make a complete typology analysis considering the creativity and innovativeness of the Mijacki masons, which have resulted in a vast and rich palette of buildings.
