Summary/Abstract: The 10 sonnets published under the title The Death of Dreams (Moartea visurilor) or The Burden of the Cross (Povara crucii) reflect both the attempts of the poet to regain his inner balance and a spiritual evolution, which presupposes that any initiatic journey require a death of the old values, a soul death and a rebirth under the sign of perfection, here under the sign of the rose. Our analysis highlights a few symbols from these sonnets that reflect this inner struggle of the poet in a process called individuation by psychoanalysis.
