Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the concept of sustainable water resources management in the context of United Nations’ sustainable development goals (UN SDG) and in relation to policies for water resources management in Bulgaria. The natural systems for wastewater treatment are discussed as an example for sustainable management. They could be used without the application of complex equipment or chemical processes. The economic and social advantages of these systems are discussed too.
