Summary/Abstract: The subject of the research in the present article is 16th-century result-based personal names. The performed analysis proves that: 1) result-based personal structures derived from nouns functioning in the Polish language in the 16th century were most frequently names of people producing food, clothes or shoes, 2) the analysed formations were derived with use of formatives -nik and -arz (half of derivatives each), 3) the majority of them were probably 16th-century neologisms, 4) new formations, unlike in the Old Polish period, were slightly more often formed with the formative -arz, 5) one-third of the examined structures have survived until the modern times, 6) the disappearance of two-thirds of the discussed derivatives was caused particularly by changes in the production technology.
