Summary/Abstract: Monitoring of the mental strain (however, associated with occupational mental and cognitive overload) may be carried out with the use of a number of experimental methods. Heart rate variability (HRV), salivation cortisol registration or brain electrical activity record are the ones used most commonly. All of the mentioned methods require the involvement of an employee, which means her/his work is about to be interrupted and, therefore, his attitude may affect the results of measurements. The article presents information on the parameters related to the organ of sight, which can be used to assess the mental state and the impact of stress-inducing situations on employees, and simultaneously can be carried out by the use of remote measurement (e.g. eye-tracker located underneath PC screen).
