Summary/Abstract: The psychiatric forensic expertise has a significant role in the justice field, providing data that establishes the responsibility of those who committed acts of a criminal nature. By trying to apply the principles and norms of ethicsand those of the law society, it is necessary to elaborate some appropriate measures for the prevention of the anti-socialdeviance events. The study in this article is intended to present the contribution that the psychiatric forensic expertise brings to thejustice process, by providing some impartial elements on which a person can be held accountable for his deeds. At thesame time this examination has the purpose to protect, if necessary through some certain measures, the society from somethreats of a person with an impaired mental state.Regarding this aspect, we have carried out a retrospective observational study on crimes that required a psychiatricforensic examination, focusing on the existence or lack of the mental state.
